An event that is often looked forward to, this year our OGA Biennial Dinner carried the theme SONGKET Sophisticate. It was held at the Grand Ballroom of Grand Hyatt Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 11 Aug 2018.

The event was the perfect excuse for our members to dress up to the nines and while away a few hours of the night with their bosom buddies from college. The dinner was also a fundraising platform to establish the seeding fund for Tabung Perubatan HANICARE (HANICARE Health Fund) that aims to assist and alleviate medical expenses for MGC/TKC alumnae.

That night saw a grand total of RM90,600 raised through contributions from the corporate sector as well as individuals from all walks of life including our own OGA members and Old Girls.

Sri Diyana Mohd Amin (SPM 2004) took home the cash prize of RM500 from OGA as the winning entry of the HANICare logo design contest.

Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister Malaysia, who is also an alumna of Kolej Tunku Kurshiah, graced our dinner event and launched the Tabung Perubatan HANICare.

As always, the dinner was well received as the ballroom was filled to its maximum capacity of 600 pax, 350 of whom were our OGA members.

To keep our guests entertained throughout the night, the Organising Committee had lined up Jari & Friends Band, as well as well-known artistes Liza Hanim and Syamel to perform a medley of hits from across the decades. As the dinner wound down, the night ended on a high note with the signature “Fling” session – whereby the girls (Old Girls as they may be) then let their hair down to dance to tunes from their college days.
